I have been working in my own shop for almost seven years now. Dealing with all aspects of custom forged and fabricated metalwork. I try to use traditional forging techniques within a contemporary style. One of my goals is to make one of a kind, personal pieces for each client.

I started silver smithing and quickly changed my focus to blacksmithing. I worked for a few years with John Battle at Battle Iron and Bronze of Long Island New York. Then I went into the Core Student Program at Penland School of Crafts, where I was lucky enough to study with a wide variety of professional smiths. After the Core Program I went to Great Britain to work with Chris Topp of the Real Wrought Iron Company as well as Brian Russell of Little Newsham Forge in Darlington England.

On my return from England, I started setting up my own shop and slowly but surely I have been forging extra income each year. I have demonstrated my techniques at several conferences around the country. I have taught at Peters Valley Craft Center, John C. Campbell Folk School, and at the Penland School of Crafts in 2007.

I will be demonstrating traditional joinery at the conference .
